161 Mr. M. Ahern asked the Minister for the Marine if he has allocated funding for the dredging of Ballycotton Harbour, County Cork; if so, the basis on which the amount allocated was calculated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11113/97]
I have allocated £53,000 towards a £70,000 dredging project at Ballycotton Harbour, County Cork which will be undertaken by Cork County Council. The project cost of £70,000 is the estimated cost of removing the siltation within the harbour. Details of the project will be finalised between my officials and Cork County Council.
