53 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the hydrotherapy pool, which was officially opened on Monday, 14 April 1997, has not yet been put into use for people with disabilities; when it will be put into use; and the reason for the current delay. While the facilities, including the hydrotherapy pool at the Special Care Unit, Commons Road, were formally opened on 14 April, the pool is not yet fully commissioned. An intensive programme of preparation and training for staff in appropriate safety and training protocols is also currently under way and it is anticipated that this programme and the commissioning of the pool will be completed within the next few weeks.
