202 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands when an official from the Office of Public Works will call out to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in relation to a national heritage area and special area of conservation. [16061/97]
Responsibility for proposed natural heritage areas and special areas of conservation now lies with my Department. Officials from my Department met the person referred to by the Deputy on two occasions and discussed matters with him. He subsequently requested a further meeting on site with an official from head office the next time that official was in the area. That meeting has not yet taken place but I expect that it will be held next month.
