207 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will make a statement on the performance to date of community radio throughout the country; and the policy proposals, if any, she has for the future in this regard. [16242/97]
Under section 4 of the Radio and Television Act, 1988, it is the function of the Independent Radio and Television Commission to arrange, inter alia, for the provision of sound broadcasting services additional to any serivces provided by Radio Telefís Éireann. Accordingly, the Deputy will appreciate that I have no statutory function in the matter.
