Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

243 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in purchasing a site for the provision of a new Gaelscoil in Killarney, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16081/97]

My Department has agreed to purchase a site in Killarney for the Gaelscoil referred to by the Deputy.

The contract documentation for the transaction has been examined by the Chief State Solicitor's office and a number of queries have been raised by that office. My Department's building unit is currently addressing the issues raised and will be in contact with the Chief State Solicitor's office in the matter shortly.

Every effort is being made to have the purchase of the site completed as quickly as possible.
