273 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the lack of facilities for the art and design students and staff at Galway regional technical college; and the action, if any, he proposes to take to resolve the matter. [16462/97]
A building, Cluain Mhuire, formerly an educational institution, adjacent to the regional technical college, was acquired by the college authorities with the approval of my Department in 1995. An ongoing rolling programme of refurbishment works has been initiated with a view to having stage 1 completed very shortly. When completed, this will facilitate the provision of new accommodation for the art and design and building-civil engineering departments of the college.
