Sligo Harbour Commissioners have recently requested financial assistance to carry out dredging of Sligo Harbour and ancillary works.
Officials of my Department met with the commissioners recently and offered technical assistance to help determine the extent and cost of the proposed dredging and ancillary works. Pending the outcome of this evaluation process and full exploration of the economic viability of possible options, I am not in a position to finalise a decision in the matter.
