Vol. 482 No. 5

Written Answers - Enterprise Promotion.

Jim O'Keeffe

Ceist:

73 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment her views on the best way in which to encourage potential overseas investors and Irish entrepreneurs. [18253/97]

The best way to promote enterprise in Ireland, whether by Irish entrepreneurs or by way of inward investment, is to ensure that we offer sustainable competitive advantage as a location for doing business. This involves not just being cost competitive but also requires a ready supply of skilled labour, efficient and effective public utilities, modern infrastructure, a flexible and responsive education system and a taxation system which rewards enterprise, at both the individual and corporate levels.
