55 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has had a meeting with representatives of Wimbledon Football Club regarding its proposed relocation in Dublin; if so, the purpose of the meeting; his views on the proposal in view of the possible implications for domestic soccer; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The question of the relocation of Wimbledon Football Club to Dublin is a matter for the football authorities and organisations involved. At their specific request, I met separately representatives of both the club and the Football Association of Ireland who were anxious to inform me of their respective positions on the issue. I explained to both that I did not have any function in the matter.
