240 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform further to Parliamentary Question No. 367 of 2 December 1997 if he will outline the progress to date that has been made regarding the non-payment of money owed to a person in County Meath by his Department. [23163/97]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the matter referred to by the Deputy is under consideration to establish whether they have any liability in this matter. I will keep the Deputy informed of developments.
