No valid applications under the 1996 headage and premia schemes were received by my Department from the person named prior to the final closing date of these schemes, and accordingly no grants can be paid. The certificate of postage dated 29 May 1996 which was furnished by the person named is not acceptable as it was completed by the post office on the 2 January 1998.

The person named applied under the 1996 cattle headage scheme and received his full entitlement, limited by his forage area as declared on his 1996 area aid application, of £561.70 on 25 October 1996. The person named did not apply under any other headage scheme in 1996.
