Written Answers. - Business Expansion Scheme.
In my Budget Statement, I announced a reduction from £1,000,000 to £250,000 in the aggregate amount that can be raised by any one company under the business expansion scheme. This reduction applies to all companies using the business expansion scheme including those whose trade consists of the production, publication, marketing and promotion of certain musical recordings by a new artist. I have no proposals for any specific amendment of the business expansion scheme in regard to the music industry.
