Ceist:

314 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will provide grant aid for the awareness campaign on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child similar to that provided by the Department of Health and Children, in view of the commitments made by the Irish Government to the UN Committee on Children's Rights; if so, the amount that will be allocated; and when it will be paid. An application for grant aid towards the cost of a proposed awareness campaign on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was submitted to a number of Departments, including my Department, by the Children's Rights Alliance. This application is under active consideration in order to determine if it will be possible to assist in the provision of such funding.
