I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Stanton — the urgent need to make resources available to shorten waiting lists, given that there are more than 8,000 children awaiting assessment or treatment at the Orthodontic Clinic in St. Finbarr's Hospital, Cork; (2) Deputy Hanafin — the need for a commitment from the Minister for Health and Children to provide a national breast screening service; (3) Deputy Deasy — the necessity for a sewerage scheme for the village of Cheekpoint in County Waterford; (4) Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny)— the serious financial implications arising from the failure to appoint veterinary surgeons and agricultural officers to new plants which is preventing them from exporting meat despite spending £1.5 million to reach required standards; (5) Deputy Gormley — the need to examine the factors that contribute to fatal accidents on Irish roads; (6) Deputy Ulick Burke — the need for the Minister for Health and Children to make funds available to the Western Health Board to provide a proper school dental service in East Galway and to appoint a dental surgeon on a permanent basis as a matter of urgency; (7) Deputy Perry — the need for funding for the Mullingar to Sligo railway line which is in very poor condition, given that there is no indication of funding until after 2000; (8) Deputy Ring — the need for a derogation from the EU to exempt farmers from Achill Island and other parts of County Mayo from the cross-compliance regulations as the average acreage of farms in Achill is 3.5 acres with turbary rights making them ineligible to join REPS; (9) Deputy Shortall — the need for a school attendance service in Ballymun and Cherry Orchard in Dublin; (10) Deputy O'Shea — the need to take action to render Faithlegg Church safe, in the public interest, and to preserve it as an important historical site; (11) Deputy Penrose — the decision by British multiples to withdraw Irish beef from their shelves and the implications for the Irish beef Industry.
