Vol. 487 No. 2

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Ceist:

66 Mr. Coveney asked the Minister for Education and Science if there has been difficulty in obtaining builders to fulfil contracts for school building or repair programmes; the number and value of contracts which are outstanding due to hold-ups in getting suitable builders; and if he will make a statement on the impact of this problem in the building programme, particularly indicating the average delay occurring in completion of works. [3656/98]

In general, there has not been a difficulty in obtaining builders to undertake school projects. At present, no contract is being held up due to the lack of a suitable builder.
