78 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will give details of his plans for a national conservatoire of music which was recently announced; and the timescale within which it is intended to develop this proposal. [2361/98]

Terms of reference for the working group to examine the feasibility of establishing a centre for the performing arts, incorporating a conservatoire, are currently being finalised. I will be making a further announcement on the matter at an early date.
