Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a notice of motion under Standing Order 31 from Deputy Gerry Reynolds. I call on Deputy Reynolds to state the matter of which he has given notice to me.
Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
I request the adjournment of the Dáil to discuss the closure of Ballinamore Textiles, County Leitrim, with the loss of 170 jobs and the need for the Government to immediately establish a task force to save the existing jobs or find a replacement industry to prevent further economic decline of the area.
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be one contemplated by Standing Order 31 and, therefore, I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
