237 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has provided funding in the 1998 capital programme for a new fire station at Athy, County Kildare; the starting date for the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4661/98]

A tender proposal submitted by Kildare County Council in respect of this project is under examination in my Department. Additional information on the matter has now been received from the council and a decision will issue as early as possible.
