Vol. 487 No. 6

Written Answers - Citizenship Status.

John Gormley

Ceist:

285 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the citizenship status of a former Nigerian general (details supplied); and if he has been granted a permit authorising his business activities in this country. [4637/98]

It is not the practice to comment either on the citizenship status of particular persons, except to say whether they have been naturalised as Irish citizens, or on whether a particular person has made an application for permission to remain in the State for the purpose of engaging in business.

As required by law, the names of persons who have been naturalised are published from time to time in Iris Oifigiúil. The name of the person concerned has not been so published.
