Vol. 487 No. 6

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

Willie Penrose

Ceist:

142 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when special areas of conservation payments, which are due to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath, will be made in view of the fact that this payment was due in 1997; the current position in relation to this; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4733/98]

This person has been paid three years basic REPS payment as well as three supplementary payments for having lands in a Natural Heritage Area. His next payment under REPS becomes due next July.

The proposed additional payment for special areas of conservation — SAC — is under recognition with the European Commission.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

143 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food, further to Parliamentary Question No. 114 of 29 January 1998, the basis for the grants paid to the live animal freight shipping service from Cork to Cherbourg. [4547/98]

The Schedule to the Appropriation Act, 1997, in so far as it relates to Vote 31 (Office of the Minister for Agriculture and Food) — provides the relevant legal basis in relation to the grants paid in 1997.

Beverley Flynn

Ceist:

144 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) will receive his installation aid grant in the near future. [4548/98]

No application was received by my Department from this person.

145 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received the shortfall of £438 in grant aid under the control of farmyard pollution scheme for which he received approval on the 22 February 1996. [4549/98]

Approval in this case was issued for the construction of two sheep houses. A final inspection revealed that one of the houses was not completed to the required specifications, and it was necessary to reduce the grant accordingly.

Ceist:

146 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive his ten month beef premium grant. [4575/98]

The person concerned applied for ten month special beef premium in respect of 13 animals on 3 June 1997. A query in respect of the non-registration of the birth of one animal arose and has now been resolved. The application has been fully processed and payment in respect of the first instalment for all 13 animals is expected to issue within one week.

Ceist:

147 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid under the BSE special agri-monetary compensation scheme. [4576/98]

There are no BSE compensation payments outstanding to the person named. He did, however, apply under the 1997 agri-monetary compensation scheme and his application is being processed at present. Provided it is in order, payment can be expected shortly.

Willie Penrose

Ceist:

149 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a 1997 REP scheme payment will be made to a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4583/98]

In this case it is necessary to amend the agri-environmental plan to accommodate the inclusion of additional lands acquired by the participant. When this process has been completed a payment will issue.
