Written Answers. - Suckler Cow Quota.
The person named has applied for an allocation of suckler cow quota from the 1998 national reserve.
I have accepted the recommendations of the quota review group which gave priority for the allocation of quota from this reserve to eligible applicants with low livestock units. Livestock units are calculated with reference to applications under the suckler cow premium scheme, ewe premium scheme and special beef premium scheme and from any milk quota held by the applicant. It is estimated that all the available quota will be utilised by eligible applicants with less than seven livestock units.
As the person named already has 19 livestock units, he will not receive an allocation of quota from this reserve.
