Vol. 489 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

124 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in the payment of premium grants for two bullocks for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [8079/98]

The person named made an application for two animals on the ten month special beef premium in January 1997. A payment representing 90 per cent of entitlement in respect of the application is issuing to the applicant.

Payment of the remaining premium cannot be made until such time as a definite position is reached in relation to usage of Ireland's national special beef premium quota. It is expected the position will become clear towards the end of April.

Ceist:

125 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when 1997 beef cow and headage grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [8080/98]

A 1997 area aid application was received from the person named under a different herd number to that quoted above and payments in respect of ewe premium under this herd number have issued.

The cattle headage application under the herd number quoted in the question could not be matched against the area aid application received under the second herd number. My Department is arranging to issue a manual payment in respect of this cattle headage application.
