Vol. 489 No. 4

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Enda Kenny

Ceist:

108 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the dilapidated condition of the Garda station at Ballyvary, Castlebar, County Mayo; the proposals, if any, the Office of Public Works has for this building; if the Office of Public Works will sell this building to the local community; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8277/98]

My office has not been informed of any concerns regarding the condition of Ballyvary Garda station. The condition of the station is a matter for my colleague the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform in the first instance. However, as the Deputy has raised the matter, I will arrange for a report on the station to be drawn up for the information of that Department. This Garda station is currently occupied by the Garda Síochána and it has not been identified as surplus to State requirements.
