Vol. 490 No. 5

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

John V. Farrelly

Ceist:

293 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will approve funding for the provision of temporary toilets for a school (details supplied) in County Meath in view of the fact there are only nine toilets available for the large number of boys attending this school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10409/98]

My Department has no record of receiving an application for grant-aid towards the provision of additional toilet facilities at this school. If an application is received, it will be considered and a decision conveyed to the school management. Since the devolved grant came into operation in 1997, it is open to schools to spend the grant money on minor improvement works to the buildings. Under this scheme, this school received £6,671 this year.
