235 Mr. C. Lenihan asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, he has to ensure that persons under the age of 18 years are banned from betting with the semi-State run tote; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11664/98]
At the moment both the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and my Department are examining the issue of young people betting with the tote. I cannot say at this stage what the outcome will be. Any decision on changes in this area cannot be made until the examination is completed.
