316 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will intervene with the North-Western Health Board on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo and have him immediately called for a hip operation in view of the severe pain he is in; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Sligo is the statutory responsibility of the North-Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the North-Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this matter and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
