475 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if the report on the costings for essential repairs to Ormonde College, Kilkenny has been examined by his Department; when funds will be made available to carry out the works; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11838/98]
A report on Ormonde College, Kilkenny, was commissioned by County Kilkenny vocational education committee and recently submitted to the planning and building unit of my Department. Officials from the planning and building unit have met representatives from County Kilkenny vocational education committee to discuss the report and its implications.
Arising from this meeting, the vocational education committee will submit to my Department an overall educational plan for Ormonde College. It is intended that a detailed architectural examination of the building based on the educational requirements of the college will then be carried out.
