Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.
Officials in the planning and building unit of my Department are in contact with the consultant architect in relation to the provision of specialist rooms at the school. A number of issues are being addressed by the consultant architect and it is hoped that this project will proceed once these have been addressed.

Ceist:496 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education and Science the date on which a contract will be signed for the building of the extension to Piltown national school, County Kilkenny. [11930/98]
Architectural planning for the major building project at Piltown national school is at an advanced stage and I expect that the tender documentation will be finalised within the next few weeks. I can assure the Deputy that every effort will be made to progress the project to tender. However, at this stage I am not in a position to give a date for the placement of the contract.
