Richard Bruton

Ceist:

548 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department provides any system whereby the experience of unqualified temporary primary teachers would be taken into account either in increments which they would receive in respect of teaching service or by providing certification of experience qualification of equivalent value to formal academic qualifications; his views on the desirability of introducing these schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12366/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 536 and 548 together.
