139 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Education and Science if document DT185 is recognised by his Department; and the reason the NCEA has not ratified certain qualifications in a college (details supplied) in Dublin 1. [14582/98]
I have had inquiries made in this matter with the Dublin Institute of Technology. The institute has stated that it is unaware of any document entitled DT185, nor is there a course carrying that designation in operation in the institute. The institute has also stated that the intended reference may be to DT518 — an advanced diploma in fine art which was first provided by the institute in 1995 with my Department's approval. I understand that the particular qualification is granted by the institute itself in accordance with the terms of the Dublin Institute of Technology Act, 1992.
