92 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have investigations made into the reasons for the delay in making an appointment for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny at the ear, nose and throat section in Waterford hospital in view of the fact that he is waiting since 1996. [14548/98]

The provision of medical treatment for eligible persons in County Kilkenny in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

93 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have investigations made into the waiting list within the South-Eastern Health Board for hip replacement operations and, in particular, in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who has been waiting for some time and will now not be assessed until September 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
