Vol. 493 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

123 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when all outstanding premia payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16657/98]

The person named received his full entitlement of £7,710.81 under the 1997 special beef premium scheme. He is not entitled to 1997 extensification premium as his stocking density exceeded the limit of 1,399 livestock units per hectare. The person named applied on 43 animals under the 1997 cattle headage scheme. At an inspection carried out on 23 July 1997, 26 cows were rejected as they were not suckling calves at inspection date as required under the terms and conditions of the scheme. The person named is not entitled to any grants under clause 29 of the terms and conditions governing this scheme, which states that where the rejected animals exceed 20 per cent of the eligible animals found, no grants are payable.
