144 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Finance his response to the request from the Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands for his views on the redundancy package for the Abbey Players Company; his views on the package; the way in which it might be financed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands has recently sought the observations of my Department on a proposal for a severance package for the permanent acting company of the National Theatre Society Limited. The proposal is being examined, having due regard to practice in the public service and the availability of resources, and is the subject of ongoing correspondence between the Departments.
