210 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if charges are to be brought against the driver of a motor vehicle involved in a fatal accident on 27 January 1997 (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16732/98]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that a file in this case was submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions who decided that a prosecution should not be taken.
