Ceist:

263 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the total number of primary schools in County Wicklow; the total enrolment in these schools; the total number of teachers and the total number who are remedial resource and other teachers; and the number of primary schools without access to remedial teachers. [16776/98]

The information requested by the Deputy is as follows:

Total number of primary schools in County Wicklow:

84 (80 ordinary schools and 4 special schools)

Total enrolment of these schools:

13,921 (13,645 in ordinary schools and 276 in special schools)

Total number of teachers in these schools:

604 (571 in ordinary schools and 33 in special schools)

The following is a breakdown of remedial services, and so on, in respect of ordinary schools.
