I propose to take Questions Nos. 22, 38, 51 and 71 together.
The nomination of an Ambassador is a matter for the sending State. When it has concluded its domestic procedures, the sending State seeks the agrément or agreement of the receiving State to the nomination. The request for agreement is submitted to the Government by the Minister for Foreign Affairs who informs the sending State of the Governments decision. No request for an agrément has been received from the US authorities for a successor to Ambassador Kennedy-Smith.
