I have had no discussions with my British counterparts on the question of a possible visit to Ireland by Queen Elizabeth. The Deputy will be aware that relations between the British and Irish Governments have been progressively developing and deepening, including of course in the context of the Good Friday Agreement. I warmly welcome, for instance, the prospect of an early address to the Joint Houses of the Oireachtas by the British Prime Minister. In this regard also, I could envisage, in due course, the further strengthening of the relationship between the two countries by a visit of Queen Elizabeth.
