Vol. 494 No. 4

Written Answers. - Commonage Division.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

206 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the Land Commission will correct errors made when registering folios of land stripped from commonage in 1989 for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [18606/98]

As part of a Land Commission assisted scheme to divide this commonage the person named agreed to surrender, in exchange for defined plots, undivided shares registered in his name on the last one of the three folios described in the details supplied with the question. The commonage has been divided on the ground and shareholders put into occupation of defined plots but the land is still registered as being held in undivided shares as the Land Commission has not yet lodged the documents necessary to register the division in the Land Registry Office. These documents are currently being prepared and will be completed and lodged in the Land Registry Office as soon as possible.

With regard to the first two of the folios described in the details supplied with the question the Land Commission is not aware of any connection between the person named and these folios and is therefore not aware of the basis for the claim that the named person is entitled to be registered as owner of these folios.
