Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following Deputies who have submitted matters under Standing Order 2: (1) Deputy Keaveney — the need to discuss the potential loss of a substantial number of jobs in Fruit of the Loom plants in Donegal and the serious consequences of such loss to the local economy; (2) Deputy Matt Brennan — the urgent need for a new fire station in Tubbercurry, County Sligo; (3) Deputy Naughten — the need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to immediately approve funding for the Castlerea sewerage scheme; (4) Deputy Moynihan-Cronin — the progress made on the reform of the pay for home helps who are employed by the health boards; (5) Deputy Kenny — the withdrawal of school transport services to St. Anthony's Special School, Castlebar and the termination of the services of a number of trained escorts due to lack of funds; (6) Deputy Ring — the need to ensure that an escort service will be provided on a full-time basis on school buses transporting children with special needs to St. Anthony's, Castlebar, County Mayo; (7) Deputy Olivia Mitchell — the urgent need for funding of the Dublin Transportation Office short-term action plan with particular reference to the additional bus requirements to service the planned quality bus corridors; (8) Deputy Broughan — the need to tackle the problem of joy riding which is causing grave concern in the northside of Dublin; (9) Deputy Farrelly — the need to provide extra funds in the forthcoming budget for the appointment of counsellors to second level schools to tackle the problem of suicide among young people; and (10) Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny)— the practice of the Eastern Health Board is placing children in care with particular reference to the placing of a person, details supplied, in County Kildare in lodgings.

The matters raised by Deputies Olivia Mitchell, Moynihan-Cronin, Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny), Kenny and Ring have been selected for discussion.
