469 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on the effectiveness of applied behaviour analysis as a therapy for treatment of autism in pre-school years; whether this therapy is available here; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18791/98]
I am aware of the principles of applied behaviour analysis. My Department has received representations seeking the introduction of the applied behaviour analysis approach to pre-school education for children with autism. The issues involved in this approach are currently being considered by my Department.
