There are no plans for a dedicated national children's theatre. However, the Ark in Temple Bar, Dublin, to which the Arts Council made a revenue grant of £378,000 this year, is an arts centre designed and programmed exclusively for cultural work by children, for children and about children. It provides for children between the ages of four and 14 as citizens with cultural entitlements, including theatre. In addition, the Arts Council is making grants totalling £675,000 this year to other organisations involved in the provision of drama for young people.
