I have no plans to privatise RTE. For the sake of completeness I should say that in deciding on policy for broadcasting into the digital age, I and the Government have largely accepted RTE's suggestions that it should enter into a partnership for the provision of transmission and technical facilities for broadcasters in Ireland. It is the intention that RTE will retain a significant minority stake in the new entity thus created.
