54 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for Finance if he has provided information to his EU or euro zone counterparts in relation to the forthcoming budget; if so, the information provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19491/98]
I have not provided specific information on the forthcoming budget to my EU colleagues. At the July meeting of the euro eleven group I outlined my broad budgetary strategy. This was included in the "Economic Background to Budget 1998" and has been outlined on several occasions since then.
I also informed my colleagues that Ireland's stability programme for the years 1999 to 2001 will be presented to Dáil Éireann and the Commission on budget day in December.
