373 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Finance when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be appointed as a clerical assistant within his Department in view of the fact that she was successfully interviewed on 22 June 1998. [21327/98]
The situation is that the Civil Service Commissioners, who are responsible for holding the competition in question, have now reached as far as the candidate's place on the relevant panel for which she has qualified. An offer of appointment to a Department or office in the Civil Service may only be made subject to her satisfactorily completing the remaining requirements of the Civil Service Commissioners. The candidate will be contacted direct by the Civil Service Commission regarding her application as soon as possible.
