391 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if tenders were sought for the allocation of advertising and public relations for the millennium festival account; the numbers of tenders received; the firm to which it was awarded; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Millennium Festivals Limited is a company limited by guarantee whose main objective is to develop, promote, conduct, manage, evaluate, select and provide marketing, financial and other support to festivals, projects, events and enterprises for the purpose of celebrating and commemorating the millennium. The selection procedure which leads to the awarding of advertising, public relations and other contracts is day to day operational matter for the board of Millennium Festivals Limited and not one in which my Department has a role.
