452 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction funding for a special computer to assist pupils with learning disabilities in Listellick national school, Tralee, County Kerry, in view of the fact the provision of a computer was not catered for in the recent allocation under the IT 2000 initiative. I am aware of the application to which the Deputy refers.
The Deputy will be aware that under the IT 2000 initiative, my Department has allocated £3,305 to the school in question to facilitate the purchase of computer equipment.
I have also designated a further £250,000 under this initiative to assist with the provision of computer equipment for pupils with special needs integrated into mainstream primary schools.
