Vol. 496 No. 3

Written Answers. - Port Development.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

114 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if rationalisation schemes have been implemented in the ports of Dublin, Cork, Waterford and Shannon Estuary; if these ports have been assisted by State funding; and, if so, the value of the State's contribution. [22800/98]

I am advised that rationalisation schemes have been carried out in the ports currently administered by Dublin Port Company, the Port of Cork Company, Shannon Estuary Ports Company and Waterford Harbour Commissioners to which the Deputy refers. No State funding was provided for the schemes in question which were funded entirely by the relevant port authority.
