Ceist:150 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Defence the number of joint exercises of company size or plus carried out between the Defence Forces and the Garda Síochána between 1 July 1997 and 1 October 1998. [22917/98]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 149 and 150 together.
No exercises of the level referred to have been carried out between the Defence Forces and An Garda Síochána. There is ongoing liaison between the Defence Forces and An Garda Síochána concerning all matters relating to aid to the civil power operations. Appropriate exercises are held from time to time as operational requirements dictate.
