318 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make a financial allocation towards the setting up of a community care project for the elderly in the catchment area of St. Joseph's Community Association, Cork. [23799/98]
I understand the Southern Health Board is in discussion with local community representatives and with Cork Corporation with a view to developing a day centre for older people and a family resource centre on an amalgamated site in the Mayfield area of Cork city.
The Southern Health Board is due to submit an updated proposal to the Department in respect of this project, which will be considered in the context of the availability of resources.
