Vol. 497 No. 3

Written Answers - Capital Projects.

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

140 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the capital projects involving funding from his Department scheduled to commence in the Waterford constituency in 1999; the estimated expenditure in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25051/98]

Details of capital projects in Waterford City and County approved by my Department and due to commence construction in 1999 are set out in the following table.

Block allocations are also made to local authorities in respect of certain categories of water, sewerage, housing, non-national roads and urban and village renewal projects, the distribution of which are a matter for individual local authorities. In addition, funding is provided to the National Roads Authority to carry out improvement works on the national roads network. It is a matter for the authority to allocate funds to individual projects.
